The project, valued at a total capital cost of ₹3,175.08 crore, will be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) as part of the National Highways (Original) scheme.

The existing stretch of NH-167 between Gudebellur and Mahabubnagar currently faces severe bottlenecks due to poor road geometry, narrow alignments, and heavy traffic congestion in urbanized towns and villages. Key areas affected include Gudebellur, Magnoor, Makthal, Marikal, Devarkadra, Jaklair, Yeligandla, and Banderpally.

These issues lead to significant delays in travel and freight movement, impacting daily commuters, businesses, and logistics operations linking Hyderabad to southern Telangana districts and beyond.

The four-laning initiative, including bypasses and realignments spanning over 36.8 km, will transform the corridor into an access-controlled, high-speed facility, easing congestion and improving safety.
