The raid, conducted on Friday (April 3, 2026), exposed an illegal operation where raw mangoes sourced from the Batasingaram market were stored and treated with ethylene ripeners to accelerate the ripening process for quicker supply to local markets. Authorities discovered the mangoes arranged in around 350 trays (each reportedly holding about 20 kg of fruit) inside the godown, ready for distribution.
